Publicasion Ethic
MALINTA: Jurnal Teknik Informatika dan Sistem Informasi upholds the highest standards of publication ethics and is committed to preventing any form of malpractice. This statement is based on the guidelines from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All parties involved in the publishing process—authors, editors, reviewers, and publishers—are expected to adhere to the following ethical responsibilities:
1. Ethical Guideline for Journal Publication

Authors must submit original, unpublished work and must not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously.

Proper acknowledgment of other works must always be given. Plagiarism in any form is unacceptable.

All contributors and funding sources must be properly acknowledged.
2. Allegations of Research Misconduct

Editors and publishers will take appropriate action when research misconduct (such as plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, or unethical research practices) is suspected.

When allegations arise, the editorial team will investigate fairly and, if necessary, may retract or correct published articles.
3. Publication Decisions

The editor-in-chief is responsible for deciding which manuscripts will be published.

Decisions are based on the manuscript’s originality, significance, and relevance to the journal’s scope.

The decision must be free from discrimination based on race, gender, religion, or political orientation.
4. Complaints and Appeals

Authors have the right to raise concerns or appeal editorial decisions.

The editorial board will handle complaints in a transparent, fair, and timely manner.
5. Fair Play

Editors must evaluate manuscripts solely on academic merit without bias.

Reviewers are also expected to provide fair and constructive feedback regardless of personal background or belief.
6. Confidentiality

Editors and reviewers must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, and editorial board members as appropriate.

Manuscripts must not be shared or discussed without permission.
7. Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that may influence their work.

Reviewers must decline assignments if a conflict of interest exists.

Editors must not use unpublished material from submitted manuscripts for their own research without the author’s consent.
8. Duties of Authors

Authors must ensure that their manuscript is original, free from plagiarism, and has not been published elsewhere.

Data and results should be presented honestly, without fabrication, falsification, or inappropriate manipulation.

All sources used in the work must be properly cited.

Authors must disclose any conflicts of interest that may influence the results or interpretation of their work.

The manuscript must include acknowledgment of all contributors and funding sources.

Authors are obliged to participate in the peer review process by responding to feedback and revising their manuscripts in accordance with reviewers’ and editors’ suggestions.
9. Duties of Editors

Editors are responsible for the final decision regarding which manuscripts will be published.

Editors must evaluate manuscripts based on academic merit, originality, and relevance, without discrimination of race, gender, citizenship, or political/religious beliefs of the authors.

Editors must ensure that the review process is fair, objective, and confidential.

Editors should not use unpublished materials for their own research without written consent from the authors.
10. Duties of Reviewers

Reviewers assist editors in making editorial decisions and help authors improve their manuscripts.

Reviewers must maintain confidentiality of the manuscripts assigned to them.

Reviews should be conducted objectively, with constructive feedback, and without personal criticism of the author.

Reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest and decline the review if such conflicts exist.

Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors.
11. Duties of the Publisher

The publisher ensures that ethical guidelines are applied consistently throughout the publication process.

The publisher is committed to maintaining the integrity of the academic record and preventing research misconduct.

The publisher collaborates with editors to take necessary actions in cases of suspected plagiarism, data fabrication, or ethical violations.
